2017 Example of PPPR

2017 Election with – Party Percentage Proportional Representation – 25% votes = 25% seats. EPC 59/1.

This Electing Proportional Constituencies result table uses the 4 most westerly UK Westminster seats. It means every party can have 4 candidates (2 Male 2 Female?). The voters single vote is for any candidate, unlike now with FPTP, which is – Voting for my party? You can only vote for ME. Using FPTP results, this table is only a guide.

This EPC table will show – each party’s vote %, how many votes for a seat, the number and % of winning and ‘wasted’ votes.

Note. With FPTP results, the % figure has preference over the number of votes due to differing electorates. With PPPR they will be equal.

! Cambourne & Redruth has 2 winners

* Truro & Falmouth no winner, so Labour with fewer % votes gets the seat

These results show with FPTP, one party got all the seats with less than half the votes. PPPR has changed that!

With PPPR, voters can choose any candidates in the EPC and then the most Popular Parties & Persons Returned.
